I spent some time looking online for software to let me create basic flowcharts for website projects. Short of buying Microsoft’s Visio, I was having a hard time finding anything. I eventually ended up looking in my OpenOffice.org folder to see if they had an equivalent, and took a look at their “Draw” application – it was exactly what I needed! (And the price tag, free, is the best part.)
I’m already a big fan of OpenOffice.org… but it was great to find an additional reason to be grateful I made the switch from Microsoft’s Office a few years ago. If you haven’t checked out this free open source alternative, do so. If you’re a small business owner, this is a great way to shave some money off your annual budget.
